The same roof the 9-year-old fell off?
The third floor of the central wing was used as a boys' dormitory. The body was found face-down on the pavement behind the school dormitory.
OK - thanks!
Nauseous is only partly correct. The fire doors from the 3rd Fl dorm opened onto the top of the chapel & gym respectively. The boy came out the door atop the chapel, walked to the back of the chapel, and was found on the pavement behind the chapel. The school was a high school seminary at that time, used in the summer as a camp. Salesian's closing had nothing to do with that terrible accident.
Student: 1962-1966
Thanks for the info. I was just going off this article:

Little paint, some new floors, and I wouldn't mind living there.
Derelict,
Can I live there too??? Pretty Please?
~Me
save me a room!
Did the boy jump or fall through the roof or something?...
I'd live there with y'all, but I gotta have a place for my horses.
What I find amazing about the "Boy Falls" story is that it occured ONE MONTH before I arrived as a student, and yet I don't remember anyone saying anything about it!
I remember the death as if it happened yesterday
*shudders*
Your Photography is inspiring. LOved your aRt! Looking at the pictures took me on a mini vacation where I felt peace and quiet and tranquility. thank you for that moment.
Now that's a beautiful picture... great job, Motts! :)
IS THIS THE BUILDING THEY JUST TORE DOWN?
It looks like a huge barn that has been modified to a home.
What a beautiful location.
My first thought was that this looked like one of those jigsaw puzzle photographs with the castle or villa in the autumn--so many gorgeous colours. This would make an excellent 1000-pc.

There's an idea: Jigsaw puzzles featuring Motts' photos. I'd rather do one of these than the same old Bavarian castle or fishing boat puzzles they always have. [And you can only do so many glow-in-the-dark wizard puzzles...]

I digress. Excellent work, Motts. All of it.
Opacity Puzzles, what a great idea and great use for some of Motts' photos, Frida
wow, this picture is amazing, I mean with the trees turning their fall colors! Great picture, great capture
this is sadly torn down now.
During my stay as a student from 1952-1954 this was the home and offices only for the priests..A Dining room in this builing was used by all of us boarding students, three times a day.

No mention of this death when I was there as a seminary student between 1963 and 1967. No students lived in this building. The photo is likely taken from the roof of the three-story school building where the students lived, except for three meals a day.
I visited this site about 5 years ago and was so Is there a picture of it in Glory days?
this is an awsome place to visit. Very impressive.
I have a postcard from the 50s of the main school building, not this one, but I am traveling on the road currently.
jerry what happened to that little boy? was he pushed or did he really fall?
you must know
Jerry--can you please contact me? elise.alexandria@gmail.com

The mansion has been torn down. It actually collapsed on its own and they took it down. All that remains is a little of the foundation. They are building a park instead...
What a great pic.
I'm the sister of the 9 yr old boy who died at the Salesian Camp in 1964. I googled Salesian camp & my heart dropped when I read about my brother. We believe he was murdered. The ever powerful Catholic church
covered everything up. Someone must have known something, but no one ever came forward.
BEAUTIFUL! Love the colors in the trees surrounding the building.
Margie, you must never let it go .Let everyone know it was a cover up.Please.Let people know about your brothers story, shed the light.
While at this camp this is the building we would eat our meals in.
this is a beautiful pic its very tragic what happend to the little boy after reading the article its hard to belive it was an accident
I used to play here and hang out after school in the late 70's my mom worked here in the office.
I used to ride the ponies at the camp too.
Father Jerry and Father Nisanski were some of the priests I remember.
I hate when they let gorgeous old buildings like this just deteriorate to the point to where they cannot be saved. I am a paranormal investigator and would have loved to investigate a location like this! SAD!
