Basement Tunnel

Basement Tunnel

Light pokes in from the rotting floorboards. These buildings were connected by tunnels like these.

pretty creepy
Too right Jacob!

This reminds me of a point 'n' Click game I played online ages ago, can't remember what it's called, but it's on www.lazylaces.com, something about a haunted building! There's a bit where you go in the basement and some dude comes after you with an axe!
You must have nerves of steel! Wonderful photos, as usual!
NERVES OF STEEL? This place is nothing. Panzies
tunnels connected most buildings ...patients were transported through tunnels as well as eguiptment ...also used in bad weather
great place to bring a first date.
That's the basement of 122 right? If it is, I've fallen through right there, one of the many spots.
Dang people, there is nothing creepie about Kings park.. I worked there as a nurse the last two years before it closed down. The only thing that was creepie was the staff that worked there that were more messed up then the patients.. There was tons of patient abuse, Nurses giving patients meds that were prescribed for other patients. Blanket partys at night, where staff would cover a patient with a blanket and beat the crap out of them.. This was my first nursing job and all i can say is THANK GOD THEY CLOSED IT DOWN!
wow Karen, that is some disturbing information, all of those things really happened, and you only worked there 2 years, that is terrible :-(
Karin how old are you?
Karin,
Yes there is something creepy about this place. Don't you think some of the abuse you've witnessed eventually caused a death or two? That is creepy enough for me. Your post alone is creepy enough for most.
please tell me you reported the abuse Karen....
i doubt she did. people will bear silent witness to goddamn near anyuthing if speaking up could get them in trouble.

one ov the many problems with a capitalist society.
A problem with "capitalist society?"

Maybe you should try seeing without your "red colored glasses". How much freedom of speech was there in your darling socialist states, such as the Soviet Union, China, and Nazi Germany? Please!
woah, the pic and karen's story are both sick-nasty.
There's some nice big brass piping in that tunnel, ya need a sawzall, but you gwt about 65lbs a yard
sometimes i wish the blob was real and lived in the pipes and wiring so you get attacked every time people like you vandalize this and other places.
never go in there because there is a clown living in there
clown living in there so dont go in there??
Have any of you who have been there actually seen or felt anything?...seriously. A friend of mine tried to get me to go there and I punked out. Still curious though.
ive been there but , nothing seriously scary happened...accept the can that randomly started rattling around. we didn't feel anything
This looks scary to me, but I'm just a chicken.
i was in the tunnels years ago and a man approached me and asked if i had the time..weird
i was down the and blazzd then got attackd by people then me and my man ran the hell out
that looks kinda creepy....plus then again im not one for dark spaces...
While medication errors are never good, there is a big difference between a medication error and deliberate abuse. Medication errors are going to happen anywhere (I was in the hospital for medical issues for four days and caught four medication errors myself, some involving not getting prescribed medication or getting it hours later than ordered and one where a nurse tried to give me double the dose prescribed). They are even more likely when there is a high number of patients, low number of staff, patients on multiple medications at multiple times, and probably people giving medications who had little training and supervision in doing so. That doesn't make them ok, it just means that we are humans and not perfect. Complete elimination of mistakes is impossible. The goal is to set up systems that will minimize mistakes, catch the ones that do occur, and result in improvement. Again, in nearly all cases, the problem is with the system and not with the person. My understanding of moral obligation and legal requirement was always that if I witnessed abuse and did not report it, I was equally guilty of abuse.
My friends older brother went to the Psychiatric Center once..I'm going next weekend with a couple of people & my mom, haha. My grandmother used to work in one of the buildings on the top floor as a security guard for the high-risk people or whatever. But my friends brother went to the top floor of one of the buildings and there was something that used to spin while it was connected to the electricity...supposedly it's still spinning. (And now my friends probably reading this and laughing hysterically, haha.)
i like the comment that says "good place to bring a first date" HAHA!!
to alex,
it was probably in the cube of building 7 right? back behind the vents.... yea me and my friend just checked it out.... its an axel that powers the pumps for the air conditioning.... if you walk a cuple feet to the left.. youll see a gigantic generator or motor used to backup power for it
