i didnt know heaven looked like this- lol-;p
The large wash basin was actually, most likely, used for running out the intestines... The most unpleasant job anyone in the mortuary industry can ever have to undertake, and the job that most often gets handed off to interns, etc.
One doesn't use the larger, stainless steel sink for that. They don't have the proper water pressure, nor do they drain quickly enough.
I believe its called a Hopper.
I like the tiles a lot, they are cute
Dude that is a hopper used in old hospitals to dump stool and urine from bedpans.
What is that on the wall next to that soap dispenser?
Definitely a light fixture, Peaches.
Yeah, it's "real neat too"
hehe, im catching onto this soap dispenser thing now, lol.
From this angle it looks like a toilet for obese people but then again its not a toilet.
great shot.so very basic.
The wash station needs to be washed.
my it needs to be washed
"Hey dude can I get you a beer?"
"Sure."
[digging around]
"Were are they?"
"Under the heart."
"Ahhhhhh now THAT'S a good beer!!!"
Big Pooper for Big BUTTS
This is most definately a hopper. I'm a nurse and have seen many of these in hospitals and nursing homes. It probably didn't have ice to hold organs, because it basically is a toilet. You can just see the handle at the top to flush it. You wouldn't sit on the hopper, it would be used to empty stool and stuff. The faucet would be used to rinse the container.
Where'd the Coors Light go?
These "hoppers" are also used at horse tracks for the jockeys to throw up in in the locker room. Jockeys having eating disorders are very common
In response to Talon's comment about cleaning the intestines, I did a medical rotation at our cities medical examiner's office and assisted with autopsies. We all had to clear the intestines at least once. It's an experience (and smell) one will never forget. The intestines were placed in a large soup pot to transfer to the hopper for cleaning. It was many years before I could make homemade soup again!
im glad there are some intelligent folks that know its a hooper its still used in nursing homes and hospitals today for the cleaning of soiled linens and clothing
There it is ! A Gorilla toilete!
Hey Motts, is someone sitting on the floor on the very right of the pic? Cuz I'm pretty sure I see someone's elbow. Well anyway, keep up the great work!
It looks like a toilet which is just wrong. Couldn't they have made it look more like, well not a toilet?
i work in a funeral home, we have a porcelain toilet/sink identical to that one in our morgue, we use it to dispose of bodily fluid and cleaning chemicals during embalming. The metal pieces protect the sides from being chipped if you slide the table over it with it tipped too low. Its designed that way so when the table is angled, any fluid will drain directly into it, all you need to do it to shift the table over it.
cool way to get rid of Thanksgiving leftovers - WHAT AM I SAYING?!?!
The toilet/sink is used to flush things that are to big to go down a regular toilet. Nursing homes and hospitals use them to clean bed sheets that have a lot of poop, blood or vomit on them before they go through a washer. they're usually called hoppers
Organs on ice.....is that a show that consists of figure skating people dressed as organs?
Back in the day when my dad was in the army he worked at Walter Reed for a while in the morge so he knows what it's like cleaning colons.
USADO PARA ESGOTAR TODO O CONTEÚDO DOS INTESTINOS!
Well I'm gonna lose weight now because after all the descriptions of what this is used for I can't eat anything! Especially not spaghetti!
