Pentagon

The doorway to the left led to a foyer and front entrance, while the one straight ahead went to the cooler room.

Incredible how ceramic tile walls retain a brilliant shine in these places. Last month I watched a documentary on the wreck of the Titanic and for the first time a submersible found it's way into the Turkish Bath deep in the bowels of the ship. Sure enough, the ceramic tile on the walls had retained it's colors and shine.
Was there only one table? That appears to be a very large room. Love the shine still on the tiles.

PS Larry I watched the same show (I am a Titanic fanatic) and its just amazing that it can survive for 100 years under water.
Great view of the embalming stand and table. How wonderfully clean the walls remain despite the Mess on the floor.... another Titanic Fan here :)
Nice use of angles once again. Sorry I missed the documentary that Larry D describes. I also have many books on the Titanic and would have liked to see the Turkish Bath. RIP the 1,500 who died. By the way, The Empress of Ireland sank in the St. Lawrence River near Quebec City, and I think 1,700 died, but for some reason this tragedy is not mentioned much.
Tile is pretty resilient. I dive and I dove on the wreck of the RMS Rhone in the British Virgin Islands. The boat went down in 1867 and the tile in the kitchen, black and white checkered was still just shining away at over 100 feet down.. pretty amazing site!
BKW Thanks for the info on the "The Empress of Ireland"
I was just in Italy on a photography trip-unfortunately nothing like this place was on the itinerary!
Did any of you catch the PBS show about the life of the ice berg and the Titanic? Very interesting. Only a little blurb about global warming, but the rest was awesome.

I have goats. They pooh at random and just squat to piddle anywhere anytime. Smells like foul band aids.
What I wonder is why would the goats poop inside rather than out in the grass? Must be a very nice room to hang out in!!
I too saw that documentary about the Turkish Baths!! I was fascinated through and through with those programs! They ran ALL day for a couple of days and I couldn't tear myself away! I watched some of them twice!

This reminds me of the TV Series "M*A*S*H" for some odd reason...maybe because they just aired the very last show the other day (I remember it well) and I can't stop thinking about it now.

Creepy, yet beautiful in a way too. :)
Were the goats doing autopsies on each other?
What a "stinky" situation!
