Yes, it is Odd! Something about the colorful counter in the arch...like where a little man with a top hat would stand and say ... Walk This Way Folks! The show is about to begin!
Decommissioned kitchen. The stove fit back in that arch. On closer look, the top half of the bricks don't match the bottom half. Maybe Liza's right. What's that metal contraption on the left? Soda machine?

It looks like an office to me, with metal wardrobe like the ones I used to have at school. My guess is that the room was originally used for a totally differeny purpose, and then turned into an office.
