The Main Gate

The Main Gate

Seeing the main entrance from the street really took me by surprise! This Doric-column entrance is adorned with two statues near the top, representing Faith and Charity.

The modern black and blue sign is for ASL TO3, a provider of physical and mental health care (although I don't care much for it's placement in front of such a magnificent structure).

Yes, that new sign is totally out of place.
Would have been much better and fitting in more if that was a police box instead of a sign.
I guess you can have faith and charity without hope...

I think the outside of this place reminds me of that old Warner Brothers cartoon about the swallows coming back to Capistrano.
The little topiary is a nice touch to the front...
My first thought was gee what is a soda machine doing in front of such an old-fashioned builfing.

Thanks for clarifying what it is. It looks so out of place being so bright in color compared to the rest of the building.
my thought to mama
I love the bright blue though. It really pops in the picture and gives the whole thing character...
Mama's right about that touch of blue adding something to the picture, although my personal feeling is that it's a little like desecrating a work of art to advertise the local automobile dealership, or something like that. That building is just too beautiful.
Great shot but they should move that ugly modern sign. It just doesn't belong there
I agree with MomPink...it does look a little like putting a mustache on the Mona Lisa or graffiti on the Sistene Chapel...

This building is way too beautiful to be disrespected like that.

Question: What is the first letter of the word "abandoned?"
