Centrifuge

Centrifuge

This centrifuge was found in the lab with some feeding tubes and lots of medication bottles. These were used to seperate blood, where there seemed to still be some inside the containers.

wow i never saw this and that is nasty! but very weird too
Centrifuges today can be very large, but this one I have to say is extremely large and odd looking. I am shocked to hear (and see) all the biohazardous materials in these facilities. I currently work in a lab and the care we take to dispose of biohazard materials is incredibley elaborate. To see bioharard materials left out in the open in these facilities makes me feel all of our work is for nothing.
Ever come across medication bottles with drug names on them? (I'd assume that part of the shutdown would usually require removal of all pharmaceuticals from the premises) Like empty bottles or shelf labels or the like?
Sure, I've been in one room that had about an inch on pills on the floor... I've also seen numerous medication bottles that were still filled, some had patient names and dosages still intact. I've even seen a prescribed container of Thorazine at a state school.
AH! yes, Thorazine Thusday's were my favorite, wake me next Thursday.
The item in this picture is a "technicon"
tissue processor-its used to process tissues and make slides for diagnostic pathology.
I want to see what is inside them darnit!!!! Never the good stuff.:(
Wow, it seems at almost every hospital you've been in still had some biohazardous material in it. Its like everyone just up and left. There's still so much that could be gone through. Forgotten is what these places are.
The last people to leave seem to think someone will come in to clean up after them, not realizing the place will remain as they left it.
The "remains" in some of these buildings is mind blowing!
It looks like an old carousel tissue processor. Mmm carcinogenic!
it is mind blowing why anyone would leave blood in a centrifuge in the first place. i work in a lab and there are 2 things you NEVER do...1- NEVER leave a tube unlabeled, and 2- NEVER leave a tube in the centrifuge becouse some test are time sensitive.
Still blood in them... gross.
I wonder if there's the virus for Zombie's in those tubes!
