Roofline

The small balcony seemed more decorative than utilitarian.

Distinctive German architecture. Awesome.
Roof looks to be in good shape from this angle.
Germany is a beautiful country with a lot of history, and the people are wonderful when they are not at war with us. I would love to visit there, especially Dresden.
Me too Charlie, maybe some day.
Quite a pretty view isnt it!? Looks like a place to take in a deep breathe of fresh air :)
Excellent Point Mr Charlie, and if I recall my history, Germany went to war mostly due to economic reasons. Good thing the economy is OK..
Pretty!
This looks kind of familiar to me, but I can't tell which building this is. I used to work at the DRK Kliniken Westend and attended nursing school there ten years ago. Although this campus is really interesting and rich in history (the famous German poet Gottfried Benn used to work there as a doctor) most of the buildings are still in use. Not far away from Westend Hospital near Schloss Charlottenburg is the old gynecological hospital which was abandoned a couple of years ago and all wards were moved to the Westend Campus. But one can still sneak in and think of all the babys born there. I was one of them...
Ah... and most of the old buildings on the campus used to have (some still have) these cute little balconies. In summer we spent our breaks from work there with coffee and a strictly forbidden cigarette.
Wow. Actually this seems ages ago.
I am very interested in the history of hospitals and know every single in Berlin - abandoned or in use.
Thank you for all of these beautiful photos!
