Shelter

Shelter

Walking down what used to be a road, we passed the demolished remnants of a power plant (only the smokestack remained), and some concrete bunker fortifications. This large structure was built into the hillside, and looked like it might have been an ammunition dump or storehouse.

Looks like the bank of garages behind where I live.
Ammunition storage or testing facility ..
looks more like a garage for a motor pool, thought its earthed over perhaps to stop it being detected easily by spy planes or bombers
Bunkers for the tower.

There should be cannon as well.
And dancing girls..
OOh OOOOH...I know!

It's where the ZOMBIES SLEEP! :D
Zombies sleep?
I would say that since this was occupied by both German and Soviet armies, that this structure was likely a revetment-style ammo dump. It's not too visible from the air and is heavily reinforced being that it's mostly buried (revetment).
Thnx as always, outstanding! I'd bet you went to that large abandoned complex east of Neuruppin too. What was there?
Errr...Jackie...I dunno...

Maybe this is where they keep their horses with the flaming eyes then?

It sure does look spooky. :|
It looks kind of creepy. I dont think I would want that kind of shelter
mama5, i immediatly thought stables for horses. But it makes more sense that it was for cars of ammo, since it's buried.
Be a great stable tho, nice and temperate all year round for the horses.
Not quite as majestic as the main house, huh?
Nice! A remote palatial estate with lots of room, LUSH greenery and a 9 car garage for all your favourite Wartburgs, Moskvitchs, Tatras and Sachsenrings!
