Fit for a Noose

Fit for a Noose

Many doorways were curiously blocked off in this small villa.

Certainly makes a person wonder why the area was bricked in!?? Love the shape of those upper windows. Fit for a Noose? For wiring? Or Hanging?
I agree that window is awesome and I wish I had one like it in my place. Also is that brick in the ceiling under the plaster? I know this was in another place you did Motts but I got to ask how the heck do you put bricks in a ceiling sort of having it preset then hosting it up into place. If any one knows how you do this I would love to know.
It says a lot to the craftsmen who built these places that they can stand for so long open to the elements and not be totally destroyed.
Shades of the Cask of Amontillado
Aaaah, the first lone chair shot. :)
Bricked ceilings don't look very easy: http://www.contractort...gh-17974/#post192002
Yes, love the window, too. I would think that the ceiling would need a slight curve so as not to cave-in under it's own weight....but I'm not an engineer
I think it's odd that the windows swing in
Even when we were stationed in Germany every place we lived had windows that all swung in. Easy to clean both sides. That was in the 70's and 80's that I lived in Germany.
Great lone chair shot. Boy, they were serious about bricking off this room. Nobody's getting through there. =8-o
Anyone have a sledgehammer? I'd love to see what's in there!

Interesting ceiling- and doorway.
What could be in there?
Why seal it in the first place?
Lots of macabre visions.
Icewox; Sledgehammer is not the way mate.
Thanks Mr. Motts for the info and bricked ceilings don't look very easy at all.
I would be trying to peek under or over the wall lol. Doesn't look like you could see much either way though. Those windows are a real piece of work! I love them. :)

Moving on.
I'm so in love with those windows.
nice caption lol
Swinging in windows are still the normal type of windows here, especially because almost all modern buildings have roll-down shutters.
