False Walls

False Walls

The opposite wall was added at a later date, judging by the black brick trim. Whomever smashed a hole through it must have felt it was unnecessary... I wasn't complaining.

Nice wallpaper!! That's a very large hole...did an angry patient do that? Looks like someone's hiding place.
What a cool staircase!
Fabulous angles, and colours (greens, yellow, greys, whites). From what you're saying Mr. Motts, I gather the hole turned to the left out of sight and went right through the wall to the other side, to crawl through.
What an eye for fantastic pics! Thank you!
What ever was walled up managed to break free.
Thanks for more great wallpaper Motts!
YAY wallpaper! :) It looks wonderful as a desktop backround! :)

That is one big hole. What is that pipe or whatever in the middle of the hole and how deep was the hole?
Such a strange building. These stairs really un-nerve me without any kind of banister or railing. If you fell, you would probably go far.
Hungry zombies were walled up in that corner. Whoever let them out got a big surprise! Stair end caps and stairs are a type of reinforced terazzo, and they would be embedded deep into the thick walls to hold it all up. Attachment points can now be seen for a full railing on all these stairs.
I just hope the railings were used and not for scrap. Be nice to track 'em down, just to see what they looked like. Any historical shots, Motts? And BTW, Great gallery. thanks from us all.
Round and around and around we go. Perfect picture!
Seeing as how the black brick trim suddenly stops at one side and reappears through the partually made hole, i want to say that the wall was constructed over a door-eather leading to some kind of room or another ward
Yup, I can see the holes or lumps or whatever where the rails had attache. Probably metal rails on this spiral. I saw the black bricks just ending on one side as well. They seemed to have a lot of blocked up areas in this place.
