The litter of a an empire and one can almost hear Katyusha playing in the background.
I'm surprised the supreme leader of Russia let them paint him bald. If it were me and I was going for total dictatorial tyranny I'd have a full, thick head of hair.
The head looks like Lenin. Is it, and who is the whole body one?
@Icewox that's definitely Lenin :) This location is in East Germany, taken over by Russians after WWII.
I adore places like this with history still inside.
I guess Russian dictators didn't have Hair Club For Men back then...

I have NO idea who the heck Lenin is (I have heard of him but I flunked History in High School so I know very little about the Wars before the Vietnam War) or that other dude standing in the other pic.
Seeing Lenin's picture like that reminds me of the phrase "how the mighty have fallen".
Has anyone on here ever looked at recent pictures from Pripyat (site of the Chernobyl disaster)? Fascinating. I would love to see what Motts could create artistically with that place. Planned any trips to Russia, Motts? (-:
I hope to travel to Pripyat and Kiev at some point, just a matter of money and time. Moscow and St. Petersburg look like fantastic places to explore as well.
Lissbeth I have visited that web site multiple times. There is controversy over whether the girl really took the pictures. I just enjoy the pics and ignore the rest. There are some really interesting things going on there. Like people who refused to leave who are still healthy. The animal population is growing and the area is lush and green. The homes and buildings are being taken over by the plants just as some of these are. The pics are worth the visit to the website.
Claudia, I know the photos you refer to, I personally think they are legit as there are tons of recent Pripyat photos on the interweb now (I think the Russians now have a program to allow certain citizens to visit the city for a day). As for the folks living there, radiation levels are low enough in some spots that cancer/illness is not guaranteed, just a higher risk. As residual radiation can accumulate in certain spots due to wind or water drainage, the gov't felt safer making the whole area out of bounds rather than trying to find all the hot spots individually
Looky there, it's "Mr Warmth"! I can feel the love. Looks like more chunks of that thin board material that was on the wall. That CCCP emblem with a fellow holding a large sword and a child is quite interesting.
