Where's those large industrial washing machines when you need one???
I bet that smelled pretty! Why doesn;t there seem to be any light fixtures in this place? (or soap dispensers)
Is this an old fire door? with the wax thing that is melting beacouse of the heat, and make the door shut it self?
You never know, there might be money in one of those bags...
Looks like an old sliding door.
Maybe there are really bodies in those bags!

Is there actually a floor in that far room?
just can't stop thinking that every one who were those clothes is probably
dead
Through the doorway is a curving staircase to the basement.
Wow. Did you open one of the bags, Mr. Motts? I bet that smelled REALLY rank! I left the clothes in the washer for too long and they got all mildewy and boy did it STINK! Even after washing them again, on certain clothes I could never get that smell completely out.
The sliding doors are awesome.
Kinda like an old barn door??
MAMA in PA if it ever happens again try white vinegar. About a cup to the wash load. Or hang the clothing outside in the sun. Both should solve the the smell
I adore these sliding doors. I know them from being involved in choir and band. I more remember them as Stage Doors- since they slide, they can't be slammed... and can't ruin a performance. But I've seen them used as Fire Doors as well.
Interesting that nobody checked those for vintage military uniforms. That bad, huh? 8^O
LOVE the sliding door. My father-in-law is a contemporary architect, and just designed some like that for their new house in 2006.
