This reminds me of the old playground equipment that McDonald's used to have....the one where you climbed inside the Hamburglar....It was 2 hamburger buns on the top and bottom, and inside were bars that you climbed through...ahhh I miss those days!
Its a good idea to heat the water with the smoke, The water might not get wery hot, but it will not freese in the winter...

Don't think I have ever seen a power plant/water tower/observation deck all rolled into one before.
I don't think I have either, TootUncommon. Very unusual. The view must have been great.
I have never heard of this either. How unique! What a pretty view too.
I wonder if it was really successful ??
Well, here in Germany, building a water tower around a smokestack was quite popular some time ago. At least you see it still quite often.
It was a new concept to me as well. It does make a lot of sense - if there's no natural hill for gravity, why not utilize the height of an existing smoke stack for gravity?
