The top floors of the building were extremely empty, but still fascinating in a way.

They sure did love this color! It does beat pepto pink tho.
Was this part of the attic that was converted into dormitories? I noticed the sloping ceiling lines.
extremely empty? lol
Rather cold feeling color, but it is calming.
When I see that window's metal grating it starts to feel a bit confining.
Good point, Larry D. Also, there don't seem to be any lights, i.e. ceiling or wall lights.
I think the sloping is an effect of the super-wide angle. I think this particular wing was constructed pretty much as-is, with the top floor; I haven't been able to pinpoint what date it was constructed. It's definitely not part of the old 1848 construction (concrete floors, metal doors, etc). Early 1900s I'm guessing.
This reminds me of a chicken coop
Looks like a steam radiator under the window?
Gah...not Pepto Bismol Pink but Mint Chocolate Chip meets Radiation-Glow Green!

This makes me feel nauseous and fascinated at the same time. :D
I imagine if being there was anything like this...even in better condition, would feel lonely and cold. its really hard to believe that people put loved ones in places like this...its heartbreaking
