Awesome shot. I can't tell if this is a window or a hole in the wall.
Beautiful, natural decay. If nature is left to do her work, the results can be breathtaking. But ya gotta love those 1970s curtains.
Don't fall out of the building!
It's amazing to me how quickly an abandoned building breaks down.
Face mask time.
I can imagine what mold and or asbestos is floating around in there.
I love the tattered valance that's there, rotting away
Its amazing to me how man can let something like this get to this state of decay?
Whoa...that is a LONG way down I bet! I can imagine how musty and mildew-y this place smells!
That is some serious decay!
Great picture Motts. It is interesting how when buildings or homes etc are left alone & when all the people are gone how it really just falls a part. In time there will just be nothing left. Kinda reminds me of that program called 'Life without People' very interesting series which I'm sure alot here watched. They showed alot of buildings like this just wasting away.
If kept dry inside and weather-tight, a building can hold up ok. Once open to quickly changing temperature and humidity cycles inside, it starts to go. When the roof starts leaking, kiss it goodbye real fast in the scheme of things, and say hello to the invading zombies.
>.> Now why didn't I see THAT one coming Autoguy lol.

You are right though. If a building is kept shut up tight against the elements, then decay will take a LOT longer to take hold...but then again, it wouldn't be ABANDONED if someone is taking the care and the time to make sure all the weather outside stays there now would it? :) JUST SAYIN'. :D
