Revealed

A water leak from above had uncovered a hint of an ornate tile floor, hidden underneath piles of plaster.

You can barely make out the tile. It must have been beautiful at one time.
That pipe or whatever that long structure is .. it's mesmerizing ..
Very pretty. The former beauty is slowly being revealed in tiny glimpses as the decay sets in.
Did you try to clean away any of the debris for a better look at the tile? It doesn't appear that there is much left :(
That is hand-worked tile by old-school tilesetters. The work here was designed to last many, many years. Too bad it's in such a state of decay.
I'd be tempted to clear away a portion of the floor just to get a peek of it's
former glory.
Wow, beautiful.
the plaster they used didn't hold up very well, did it?
seems fine for 100+ years old plaster. Probably holds up better than dry wall. I read somewhere ( yes, on the internet ) that new houses only have a one year warrenty because that's when the glue in drywall can start to fail.

Really? a one year warrenty on something with a 30 year mortgage?
I like to see things like old wallpaper, tile, etc. uncovered. It's a like a look into the distant past.
Can anyone else see all the faces on the wall? I think it's called matrixing.
Good catch Mr Motts
Oh that is SO pretty! It is like finding a pretty flower under decay and destruction...

I had to look twice to really SEE the tile. :)
I think the faces seen on the wall might be from using the mesmerizing pipe.
LOL autoguy--those faces sort of DO make me feel like I'm trippin' LOL!

ACID TRIP! WHOOOO!!!! (I missed the 1960's just by a couple of years so I never got to experience them...too bad.)
An unexpected hidden treasure :)
