I bet a lot of "beehive" hairdos when through this contraption.
For that B52's look.
I find it a bit amazing how many old hospitals have had these hair dryers, there are quite a number in many of Mr. Motts' galleries of different locations.
I've noticed this trend too, BKW.
Just because you're in a hospital doesn't mean you have to look like shit :-)
Is this a hair dryer, or a brain extractor for the zombies???
almost gone 24 hours before a zombie lol
What is this zombie of which you speak?
Great composition Mr. Motts!
When I first looked I thought it was a bomb
A rocketship!

3...2...1...BLAST OFF!

Love the paint-squares on the wall. :) Very art-deco!
Close, Larry D. The old fake hair dryer trick. Sucks 'em right in every time. Sharp saws zip the skullcaps right off for the lobotomies. They won't care about having wet hair for long!
I love this picture, it is a reminder that even though these places may to us, through modern eyes seem to have been filled with horror, were fundamentally trying to help the patients. Giving them access to things such as hair salons was part of some patients treatment. Much nicer than ECT I am sure!
There you are Autoguy! Good to see you still have your Zombie humor :)
I would not want to stick my head into anything like this. (Even a new one.) I'm always afraid, knowing my luck, I'd be in it when it decided to malfunction, catch on fire, electrocute me, etc...I'll pass. LOL!!! I can envision all the big weird hair , too. :)
My but the zombie comments are getting old...
Seems to me the zombie comments are a little levity in some of these incredibly disturbing images. Sometimes they're the only bright spot in some of these shots.
