Wow, a new post and I am first to comment! It will be great I am sure!
Fantastic!! A new gallery! **Doing the happy dance**

But on another note, the background story of this facility was fascinating and disturbing. The historical aspect cannot be ignored as this was the birthplace of the Kirkbride plan. However, reading about all the surgeries and tooth extractions in search of a "cause" of mental illness must have made this place a Hell on earth. I believe it was Winston Churchill who said "Those who refuse to learn from the past, are destined to repeat it". These spectacular galleries will teach many the past mistakes of antiquated mental health care. And for that, we thank you.
getting closer to being 1st :)
thank you mr motts
Thanks for the new album! And yes, I'm earlier for commenting too, but the pictures are more important :-)
OoOoOo, new gallery! YAY!
your right Tenbris. thank you
Always ready for a new gallery!
It almost seems like a ghost within the mist.
Oh boy, a new gallery, and a hospital too! Well said, Larry D, I agree. Wonderful shot Mr. Motts, showing the vapour hanging at the ceiling.
good photo
I should note that this particular wing was not part of the original Kirkbride plan, but rather added on to it in later years (early 1900s I would estimate).
Nice way to end the week, with new photos!
This would rather worry me if I were in an abandone building, actually.
Thanks for the multiple floor plans, that was totes cool. Looking forward to the rest of the pics
Well I may not be first but I sure look forward to each new Gallery
Well, I am a little late in the game here...but I sure did enjoy reading the introductions to this gallery! Very informative!

Doesn't this picture conjure up images of ghosts and spirits and...GHOSTHUNTERS! :D I bet they would have a blast here!
You rock Mama. I was wondering where you were. =8-)
Oh, I am here...just getting used to the kids being home on Summer Vacation. They got out this past Thursday and it is a little crazy yet.

that walker could tell a thousand stories
how true, Tara, I was thinking the same thing. Poor person with the walker.
where are these places located??
@Sasha, in order to preserve and protect these magnificent structures as long as possible from the hordes of Mott's wanna-bes, Opacity keeps the locations and (in most cases) the actual names classified. This also protects the amateur explorer from themselves. It would be tragic if a teenager died in one of these buildings because they wanted to do what Motts (a very seasoned and experienced explorer) did.
Dear mr motts. Love your work! Here in michigan in northville, threre is an abandoned psychiatric hospital named northville regional psychiatric hospital. Its got about 17 buildings or so along with a 10 or so story main building. Me and my gf went through and got some real nice pics. If u wanna see them I will give you my email. caught a few orbs and a weird shadow in the pics!
Oh boy. I didnt read anything before posting that... Oops. Wish I could delete it :(
