Motts you really know how to compose a great shot.
This too would make great wallpaper.
I just look at shots like these that Motts takes and just imagine all the hustle and bustle, people, and noise that must have been present there when the plant was operational. Some of these shots give me shivers.. lol

Is it me or do the gennies sort of look like weird futuristic-eastern-block-style apartment buildings?
You are looking at the exciters. These are Direct Current Generators . They are stacked on top of the big AC power generators. The exciters make DC current to magnetize the field (rotor) of the big AC generator under them.
