Place

Place

The less industrial spaces had mosaic tile work in the floor, and ornate trim and molding set among fireplaces, creating a very home-like atmosphere.

What a contrast in this shot versus the previous ones.
This looks almost livable.
Maybe even comfy.
What a magnificent fireplace! Love the wood.
Great looking fireplace surround.
Was this someone's office? Seems totally out of place in an industrial setting.
What a lovely fireplace, I would never have thought it was in a hydroelectric plant.
You have to dig those columns. :)
I agree. That fireplace should be recycled and put in a person's home.
Seems really out of place in this setting?
Bet that floor of tiles is beautiful under all that dust @dirt. Great Columns on that fireplace i agree, but what is that in front on the floor?
It's a trap for Santa LucieLou. :)
Almost hard to believe this is the same building now.
LOL AD Nelson.
cool
Does anyone find it odd that they would have wood burning heat in a place where they could have electric heat much easier?
Ok. I waited and hoped somebody would be kind enough to help this poor girl out. But, seriously what is that in front of the fireplace? I have no earthly idea. I can tell you what it looks like, but that wouldnt make any sense at all..... some kindhearted soul please tell me :)
LucieLou, to me it looks like an electric radiator that's fallen forward off its supports. Dunno if that's correct though!
That's unexpected.
Thank you emma! I do see the wooden supports now that you have said that. I just dont get it. Why build a lovely fireplace and sit a ugly gas radiator in front of it !??
What a gorgeous setting!
looks like it owuld have been really nice in its hay day
Amazing that is still there and not trashed! I hope it finds a good home some day.

My shot: There's a gas feed tube in the fireplace. That appears to have been extended to an unvented gas heater that is on the floor in front of the fireplace, and it looks like another gas line goes to the right along the wall to another location. The gas fired heater on the floor is fallen forward, and lies face-down.
Just beautiful !
did they use it, if the power went out?
Looks like a Magritte painting sort of.
