Basin

Basin

The Doric columns above the sink matched the massive ones that lined the building's main entrance.

That sink has seen better days
Oh come on.....where is the soap dispenser comment???
It's the small details that makes a Motts photo spectacular. Do I see a bar of soap still sitting on that small shelf to the right? Wow! what a great time capsule! That sink is salvageable. A little Bon Ami and it would shine like new.
Love this! Was that a little brown book on the shelf or something else?
OK...who stole the soap???

Is that a HOLE in the back of the sink or is that just rust? Use some heavy-duty cleanser and some elbow grease and you've got yourself a pretty nice-lookin' sink! :)
I'm guessing that's rust, Mama... from the chain hanging down. I remember those chains having a small rubber stopper on the bottom you would use to block the drain.

I'm wondering what the brown thing on the shelf above the sink is? Looks like a book or an old folder. Remember the kind that had a flap you close and wind the string around a button of sorts to keep it closed?
Those taps are really cool, I would love a set like that.
I think it's a stack of brown paper towels.
The columns add just a touch of elegance. I see that color paint has been around for eons.
It's all Doric and stuff.

Looks pretty zippy. Looking forward to the soap dispenser..
Thanks Mr. Motts! Now I can see it...those awful brown paper towels that places use when the GOOD paper towels are used up lol. I hate the smell of them, especially when they are wet. Blah. :D
I'd go nuts with dual faucets running hot and cold.
I wash my hands of this whole thing! (joke)

I like those columns. I've never seen anything like that before. Maybe the Doric style is worth a little research....
Oh, now I am going to have to bulid something like that in my bathroom, or over my kitchen sink (not kidding). That little "touch" wouldn't be to difficult copy, and in room-matching colors, would look great. Love simple little stuff like this that breaks something out of the everyday ordinary. Thanks for the new gallery. LOVE the outside of this building, too.
Wow, those little columns are a wonderful little detail.

Question: Is the color of the sky blue or green?
