Boxes

Boxes

Some rooms of the hospital were piled high with boxes of administrative paperwork. This building closed in 1979 and is supposedly used for storage, but the items inside appeared discarded and uncared for.

I can't believe with all the patient privacy laws now, that these files are just left for anyone to find. Wonder what stories are hidden in there???
Wow, that color is quite vibrant and pretty. Even though I know it's an invasion of privacy, if I'd been in that room I would have had a super hard time walking away without reading some of the files. In fact, I don't think it would have been possible for me to leave without snooping a bit. The temptation would be too much. I wouldn't take anything though, just look.
If that was "administrative" paperwork it was probably just office receipts, work orders, invoices, paid bills, personnel files and the like, probably not patient files. But then again you never know.
What a fire hazard.
I agree with everyone else's comments. I love the color on the wall! That is my fave color right there. :) My first thought was DANG that looks like our old house as we were getting ready to move out! We had boxes everywhere, just like this lol. :)
Sad that all our lives are forever trapped in boxes.
yea, i agree. def a fire hazard. if my thinking is right with this location, i think they had 2 fires here...??
Love that old light hanging from the ceiling. My elementary school had lights just like that. Of course back then we had to use whale oil to light them.
Reading old medicall records can be fascinating. The terminology is very different and the medical treatments are very interesting. I would read some also. As a retired RN I can read things like this with absolutely no interest in the patient name and identifiers. Early on I taught myself to not remember names. I can tell 36+ years of medical tales and not one name. Of course now that I don't work it is not a good skill to have. LOL
This would be a great place for that critter to hide in.
Is that a door in the rear or an old sealed-up doorway? Lots of sealed up doorways fascinate me. There are plenty where I work. I like to imagine how the old room-to-room setup used to be. Maybe behind the sealed doorway is an empty closet or a formerly used hallway.
Surely the papers in the those boxes are confidential to a certain extent if it is admin? I find it scary that people's records may be there!
