The grandiose porch at the main entrance. One interesting note is the fact that the building was built in two halves; construction began in 1914 but halted during the advent of World War I. As the number of veterans needing psychiatric care increased, funding was given to complete one half of the building in 1920, where soldiers were treated until 1925. Construction on the other half resumed in 1926 and the building was fully completed one year later.
Below is a photo taken in 1915 which clearly illustrates the separation. It also shows the vent shaft for the connecting tunnel, which is featured in the previous photo in this gallery.

The orange netting hints at some kind of work being done to stabilize the building, however I didn't see evidence of work being done elsewhere.
