equipment in great shape, i bet it's worth a few bucks!
What, no fava beans, sweet breads and chianti? =[
Just like Mom used to make...
Can you imagine stirring these things? Reminds me of the pots in the kitchen in Danvers. [I am obsessed with the place, remember?]
Probably easier to stir those than a big pot on my stove....

Those look to sit about counter height (well dammit... height ... hieght niether looks right... but I haven't slept in 36 hours....)
Our high school has a few of those!
They still have pots like this in Ellis Island.. you just gotta know where to look ;)

BTW motts, that would be a awesome place to take some shots.. too bad they city watches over it like fort knox...
Yeah I went last summer hoping to shoot inside the buildings, but the tour guide just wouldn't have it... it was difficult to just stand outside everything!
I once talked to some park rangers about getting permission to photograph inside the abandoned buildings, they seemed to think it might be possible ... but this was ten years ago ..
Someone had permission at some point becuase I just saw a book at Borders that was pages and pages of the abandoned parts of Ellis Island (mental and medical hosital and the like.) According to the book there are plans to start more restorations.
look at that.....

I have a video tape i made about 10 yrs ago from t.v. about a mission and soup kitchen not far from me.
When the camera panned on the cook, who was making chilli in one of those mixers-he looked-up,gave the 'one moment sign' and stood his giant wooden spoon straight-up in the center of the kettle, showing how thick the stew was.
we have these types of kettles where I work. They arent that hard to stir unless your short then you have to stand right next to it and damn does it get hot.
When I worked in the cafeteria while going to college we had these. My job was to make 5 gallons of pudding at a time. And it was cooked pudding not instant. These pots did a great job of cooking pudding.
If you look toward the bottom of the middle one you will see the tap that you opened to allow the cooked food to flow into pans that fit the steam table. Brings back memories.
Mmm, gotta love gruel *barf*
