Panel

Panel

The small room at the top of the stairs offered a 360° view, with a chair and this control panel. I presume it operated the spotlights, alarms, and possibly the door at the base of the tower... there weren't many labels.

I wouldn't be able to keep my fingers off those buttons. State of the art technology in it's day.
Must push the shiny red button.
gives new meaning to the phrase "pushing my buttons"
Hey A D Nilsen...I dare you to push the red button!!

:D I wouldn't think there would be many labels left.
alarm button... freak out the people in the new housing devlopment
Mama that's the history eraser button.
Never push that one.:)
Yep! Would have to push them all. * Giggles with delight* Does it look like that label near the top right has GATE written on it?
LOL A D Nilsen...aw shucks you went and made me giggle now!

I am sure High School students wouldn't cry if I pressed that button lol! I HATED History in school! I failed a lot of the tests and only passed it by the skin of my teeth...literally. The teacher took pity on me I guess lol!
Looks like Lucie Lou is right top right button does say "gate" on it.
I say just push them all!
I think it's interesting that you see all the crappy new houses in the background, like that's the real prison.
Lol mammabear :)

I wish I were a kid again so I could play in Lorton.
Imagine the possibilities!!
If i turned the shed in my backyard into a space shuttle/ time machine/ whatever it needed to be at the time/ I probably never would have left the grounds at Lorton!

Hell- sounds like fun right now *sigh*
I'm still a kid and want to play there. I want one of those guard towers to put in my yard! I'm thinking some of the folks would have wanted to leave the grounds. Play time was not much fun for them I guess. And yeah, there's the new "mortgage prison" homes. Those are a work-release program.
My kids would love this!
Love this. Yup, I'd have to touch each one.
