Not only would I "hold it" until my release date, but I'd probably be pretty crusty from not taking a shower. There's no way I would shower in this place.

@Eldokid I tried to "hold it" too my 1st time in, but if you don't shower the CO's will hose you down with high pressure hoses, throw louse powder and soap on you and spray you again. and yes there looks like there was a curtain, but you are still exposed to the people beside you just not across the room. or Ive seen clear curtains more to keep the water under control than showering,

I'm pretty sure any sense of modesty is among the first things to go upon being sentenced to an institution of this sort. I highly doubt the guys stand around surveying each others' packages, anyway. Probably not enough time, in any case. This doesn't look like the type of place where you can expect to enjoy a long, leisurely shower.
