Can't believe I got onto a gallery this fast...anyway, out of all the color combinations I've seen in hospitals, this has to be one of the nicest ones. I think the yellow and turquoise really play on each other.
Something about peeling paint that is fascinating.
A new gallery, what a great Christmas surprise! Mr. Motts has lined up this shot perfectly to show first the turquoise room, then the yellow room, then the pink room farther down the hall, then yellow and then turquoise at the very end. Perfect. Mr. Motts has a talented eye for seeing the extraordinary where no one else would.
I think I would take these bright colors over the pepto pink and the institutional green of most place. These colors are more uplifting than the usual. Guess I just like bright colors in my little world ha.
I've never seen such bright colors in a hospital. It has a child-like atmosphere. Sort of like a day care center. It's very pretty though.
Love the Color! Its like Sherbet! I see Lime, Pineapple, and Strawberry rooms and Lemon walls...lol.
Funny how in some places the paint is peeling so much, it looks like wallpaper falling off.
Very vibrant! Something about the color combination reminds me of tropical, warm places. Usually hospitals give off a cold vibe to me.
Happy colors.
Excellent balance of light & colors….this is an awesome photograph.
It’s as if we were right there in that hallway.
All horrible colours when on their own, but all together...
The yellows and greens really stand out. Great shot, Motts.
damn! i'm a painter of 12 years, and these colors are awful. caution yellow with blue trim?? lol
Wow- the contrasting colors are amazing...it almost looks like an funhouse...
how could people survive in such ugly colored rooms? maybe they wanted to torture them
This certainly is more colorful than other hospitals you have photographed, or at least more colorful in a pleasant way! Makes for a great shot. :)
I too love the contrast of the yellow-orange-pinkish with the bright green of that first room.

It certainly looks brighter than most hospitals!

Good job!
So, Motts. You must do a lot of traveling. I've noticed you've taken pictures of these places from all over the place. Anyway, I was reading the discription on the main Henryton page, and it's strange; this hospital was a place for African American TB patients, but why was it run by the Mental Health Commission? Just wondering.
Ah yes, there was an error - Henryton wasn't involved with the Dept. of Mental Health until 1963. I've corrected the history page, thanks!
