Maybe a film splice system for combining the reels??

Lovely contrast of colors.
Looks like the remains of an editing table for building up reels of film for the projector. Could be used for rewinding, but the Strongs in the previous photo had a rewind feature.

Wow. I don't think I've seen anything like that before...

I remember the old projectors from grade school (you know, those STUPID "films" they showed EVERYONE about hygiene and the like) but these look HUGE compared to what I remember.
Makes you wonder what the last film ever spooled about those reels was.
If you see closed reels of film you may want to let someone know. Cellulose film will fall apart after a while and there is a lot of stuff that has been lost over the years due to lack of conservation :/
They look reely big!
