These are the biggesr springs i have ever seen.

Probably the actuators for the main steam stop valves. They control the steam into the turbine....

I agree with Mitch. They are part actuator for the main steam valves.
These are springs for the control valves there are typically four on top and four on the and feed steam into High Pressure section of the turbine. The Main Steam stop valves (usually 2) are further back and will close when the turbine trips off.

I looked really quick and thought it looked like something from Pink Floyd's "The Wall".
