now that is far creepyer than any decrepit hall way
It looks like the box next to "Negative for tuberculosis" has an "X" in it. Not quite as creey as if it had said "Probably Active."
please tell me there wasnt a name on that card!
ooh tell me is there a name on that card because if there was it would make it creepier!
If there was a name, that's a good thing, because the box next to "Negative for Tuberculosis" has been checked. Yay for that person. :)
The x-ray reading probably came from the fact a person reacted to a PPD test. It's a test where they see if you've been exposed to TB. X-ray's are taken to see if the TB is active. Either that or the person has an allergic reaction to the injection, and needs an x-ray to test for exposure.

PPD stands for plasma protien derivative I believe. A small amount is injected just under your skin leaving what looks like a mosquito bite. If the bite goes away in a 48 hours no problem. If it gets bigger and looks inflamed the presumption is that you've been exposed to the disease enough so your system has built up antibodies to it. Afterwards you need a yearly chest x-ray to see if you have active TB. Or you could be allergic to it and your arm could blow up like a ballon. It happened to a good buddy of mine.
At least this person tested negative.
My husband had to have a TB test both when he started working at a nursing home, and then when he started working at the local hospital. Luckily he never had a positive reaction to the stuff!

This person, it seems, was lucky too - I bet they sighed in relief.
IF THEY WERE NEGATIVE FOR TB, WHY ADMIT THEM?
If only charting were still this easy...
negative, uufie
I'm allergic to it. I always get a false positive reading, so they just bypass the skin test and give me the xray. I don't have TB, don't worry.
