Well I guess there is an aisle on one side.
Seats in good condition.
I don't think those seats are going to stay in good condition for very long, by the looks of the ceiling tiles. Thank you Motts for posting yet another beautiful set of photos before these places are completely demolished.
Wow...

I feel like I should be quoting Shakespeare or something. :)
I'm not going out on that stage.
Stage fright.
You're right, Ferdy, I hadn't noticed that. With all those seats and only one aisle on one side, I'm sure that would be a building code violation, today anyway. In an emergency, I'm sure lots wouldn't get out. (I work with disaster planning.)
BKW--I would think if there WERE an emergency or disaster that a lot of people would be trampled to death. That isn't good. DEF. not up to code by today's standard I am sure.
ok what is that stain that is on the seat in the front row?
Deerrrrr...don't ask questions you REALLY don't want to know the answers to...lol!

It looks like just a lot of dust and dirt and fall-out from those wretched tiles.
I cant believe there is only 1 isle and its not very wide. Its not a nice looking auditorium
there must have just been movies in that kind of theater...unless it was a temporary one while something was being built?
So you thought you might like to go to the show? I got some bad news for you, Sunshine...
that is one hideous auditorium!!! wonderful pics-well done
This doesn't look like it was used for movies. There would need to be a projector somewhere (back wall is exit doors) and there isn't much room in front of the first row for a portable and still project an image big enough for the back row to see. Maybe slides or an overhead projector would have worked for lectures in this room.
First thought - the seats are made out of those old 'pearl' erasers and the second thought - Effin' EEEEWWWWEEEE.
I'll bet a state hospital had to provide some education and perhaps some of these spaces were for that purpose.
Great pics Motts.. There are isles on each side. You can see it in the last pic.
One of the seats is trying to be different.
