Surprise

Surprise

Reaching the first floor, things didn't seem right; these dust-free television sets, the working lights, and some odd noises from the other end of the building were all hints to leave. After seeing the other floors, I didn't feel like I was missing much!

Woah, does make you wonder what was going on.
That's odd, and kind of creepy!
and the beds stacked in the back...wonder if it was a 'holding' place for a fence...
Old televisions.
Reminds me of a pawn shop....
Did you at least make off with a television? :P
I have to say this picture distubed me!! I have no idea why it just gives me a bad feeling :)
Free TVs for allllllllllllllllllllllllll :D
is there anything on TV?
again even though these are old tv's it doesnt look like they have been sitting there since 1992 ..
Mr.Mott, when you say you heard noises what sorts of things did you hear? Do you think that part is in use? The Tv's could be a burglars stash?
A banging or clanging noise; seemed more human than not. These boarded up buildings often become an area for surplus equipment when the surrounding campus is still operational, which would explain the stacked mattresses also in the room.
Kind of nice to know the building's still being used somewhat.
Makes you wonder, if you went back in 10 years, would they still be there?
Looks like my old tv..
how did they get the power to come back on? when hospitals and such are abandoned dont they cut the power off completely?
Not always, sometimes the power (and even heat / air conditioning) is left on for maintenance purposes, storage, power supply to alarms / cameras, and sometimes to just make the building look used. It could have also been an overlooked detail when the building was emptied.
Well these could be used in an activity center for kids or seniors, I think someone should look into that....as I am in Oregon I cannot, but would if I could....
ooh, 20 bucks on ebay, here i come
HEY DONATE THESE TO UNFORTUANTE FAMILIES!
I WOULDVE STAYD!
i work at RPC...for 25+ years...and you people have some vivid immaginations! ha! most of your factoids are incredibly false.
What are the factoids? There's always a great amount of guessing made at these abandoned places because most of us have never seen them in operation, so that's all we can do...
Now thats disturbing. What all those things are doing there? The dont look to old.
If I knew where this place was I would steal a TV for my room. Everyone in my house has a TV in their room except me. I want a TV in my room, too!
I wonder why they were sitting on that blanket.
Do these TVs still work? I am a TV repair technician and I can see in the pictures is a panasonic, model year 1989-1991. if these sets are still there, I could go see them and try to fix them to use them or donate them somewhere. seems that when closed the hospital, the tvs were almost new.
I am guessing nothing criminal, to me it looks like the TV's were pulled out of individualized rooms from the same building, along with the mattresses, I am guessing from this building and placed in here for disposition of what to do with them. Ya' just cant throw them out these days anymore.
Definitely not stolen goods. No one would steal those, as they have almost no resale value in today's market. (Someone mentioned donating them to unfortunate families, and I must note that I just recently got an apartment through VA housing assistance. I had no furniture - AT ALL - and was given an entire houseful of goods that were all donated. Among those things was a TV that looks *exactly* like these. Good call on the donation idea!)

Combined with the stacked mattresses in back, and the fact that this is an empty building on a partially-active campus, I'd have to say it's probably storage. They're likely moving old TVs out and replacing them with new sets, as well as rotating the mattresses out of circulation for recycling or cleaning. Stands to reason they'd need someplace to store it all until arrangements are made - what better place than an unused building on the property?
Its been a long time since i came to this site but i still love it
had to comment in this picture because i have one of those tv in my kitchen lol its the only tv that havent been replaced by plasma and its more than 15 years old
