Wow this is an amazing shot; all the angles are fantastic! It reminds me of the perspective drawings I had to do in graphics class many years ago.

I cannot understand why such a beautiful building is destroyed and usually some ugly building replaces it.

Thank you so much for preserving this location for those of us who appreciate the beauty in these old buildings. It is heartbreaking to see the destruction of such a grand old reminder of the past. Your talent and eye for the sublime has ensured it will not soon be forgotten.

reducing everything to the lowest, cheapest common denominator relegates it all to cookie-cutter ugliness. Goodbye to the formal, lasting architecture that meant so much.

Its an awesome picture, but this was a prison to the patients who were held in those walls... that story ended like most of the other asylums around the world. Now a new chapter begins...
