The stairway to hell.
Creepy! Dont touch the towel... it missed the chute!
Lots of happy germs living on that towel.
Someone thought it was time to trow in the towel before going down there.
@LucieLou: EXACTLY what I was thinking! Hahah!
I don't think TB germs would live 29 years?
That towel was used to clean the sputum refuse chute, yes. It crawls around the place under it's own power.
I was also wondering if that was the towel for cleaning the chute
LOL Money. That sounds like something I would say !!!
your work is amazing :)
lord only knows whats on the towel!
Whats that black stuff on it, and why isn't the towel covered in dust
@autoguy - HAHAHAHAH!!! I can imagine that creepy old towel slinking around in the darkness, leaving bits of dried, crumbly sputum in its wake. Blech!
I would have thought by now the bacteria on that towel would have formed its own civilization.
I wonder if that towel was used for cleaning, then just lsft there. It seems like it would be germ infested with someting. I would not want to touch it
germs can only so long in the open air but mold and other nasty icky stuff could still be on it ICK
Dirty moldy old towel....yuck thats for sure I totally agree.....I'm sure alot of things are living on that towel.....never to go away.....scary......
There is a whole city of bacterium on that towel...going to jobs, raising children...listening to Metallica (WOOHOO!)...

Egad that is a weird picture!

Love it!
Ferdy is right. After that much time one would not have to worry about TB or any infectious remnants from former patients. The cause for concern in these kids of places would be asbestos, extreme dust, and some types of molds and mildews are toxic to humans. One might also beware of animal carcasses and droppings -- hantavirus.
