Walking past the arches, we were greeted with this cavernous space.

Looking at it makes you feel small!
Awesome
Looks a bit risky being under that ceiling.
Staircase still intact too. Massive. Wonder what it was used for.
Yep, a fairly impressive (and intimidating) admin building, likely! The Upper School (grades 6-12) building where I went for high school had a lower-level foyer going to the gym (left) and the main school building (right). There was also a second-level (generally admin) entrance. The second floor was a balcony overlooking the main level "commons" area and not-too-fancy stage. The third level was the ceiling over this. Needless to say, THIS main hall and balcony beats mine by two miles!
Love the Height and the Openness. Once very grand.
Even the mightiest shall be layed low in the fight with time!
Wonderfully ornate ceilings.
probably a killer echo in there
Wow!! I can totally envision this as a prestigious boy's academy of old. As a military training facility... not so much. Bet most of those eager young recruits in the 40s and 50s never saw this part of Bainbridge.
Eh...does this remind anyone else of Howgwart's School?

I can imagine the hustle and bustle in this building...wow.
*Hogwart's...my fingers can't keep up today...
That must have been so beautiful back in the day. What a wonderful space!
sometime when i look at the pics, i try to estimate in my head how much i would charge to re-do the rooms lol...idk why
Awesome!!
