Autumn

Autumn

The building seemed to have been touched up recently, with clean boards over the windows and paint on the columns, which I assume covers a layer of spray paint. In recent photographs, the skeletal clock tower has been refurbished into a simpler design.

We had no idea of the expansive acreage of the military property that lied to the North, however by this time (2005) most of those structures were demolished.

That was a great gallery Motts.
Thanks for letting us tag along. :)
Just have to say, (again) they don't make them like that anymore!
@Bob-you got it, pal! : ) It's a real shame that there's no more (in general) creativity in architecture.
Looks like you ve been busy man! Thanks for the pics, love looking at your work and as always great job and be careful buddy!
Fantastic Mr Motts. Thank you!
Great gallery!
Loved this! Very much appreciated! :)
Short and sweet and hard to beat,Thanks again Motts
Top-shelf work there, Senior Motts! Thank you.
Once again outstanding, thanks Motts.
thank you for sharing your photos with us
Thanx for the new gallery!!!
Thnx once more for posting, Motts! Gr8t to see the historical write-ups too! Aerials from 2008 show numerous large abandoned buildings left on this complex to the NE of the originals, plus some residence homes in the woods. Perhaps you may wish to revisit this site if in the area.
Motts Thanks for another wonderful gallery to see everyday. Keep up the wonderful work you do.
I love this one, I attended JobCorps in KY at an abandoned military base and had some good times (and got into some trouble) exploring the abandoned parts of the base. wish i still had the photos. Interesting this was aslo briefly a JCor center. they must like to use old military sites. thanks motts!
Thank you Motts. This gallery showcased some of your best photos ever. Thousands of young men must have walked these halls over the decades. Many went on to a long career in the US Navy. Some went to war in far away lands, never to return.
Attended NAPS in 1961 @ Tome School. Was very impressive then. Stopped at the old gate area for base in 2006, but didn't see anything else. Read article [ 2011] that Port Deposit wants to restore some of buildings & redevelop base area also.
Lived on this base as a child until 1972. Used to run around these old buildings and even had a friend that lived in an old Tome school house that the commanding officer of the base lived in. Thank you for showing these and bringing back memories that hadn't been thought of for 40 years almost.
I attended the Naval Academy Prep School in 1969 at the Tome School, staying in the Harrison House. Our classes were in the main tower building and a rec center and gym were in the building just south of the Jackson House. I think it was called the "Tome Inn".
It't strange to see it all as a ruin today and makes me realize how temporary our lives really are. The pictures are a real treat. Thanks for taking the time to record their current status.
