Broken

Broken

Some modernizations have altered some of the tile work, such as the electrical conduit in this photograph. Most of the damage appears to be from neglect, as the tiles peel off the wall and shatter on the floor.

Still a great find Motts.
So unique and detailed. What a shame its starting to peel and fall :(
these are wonderful. it's amazing they are still so intact, although i suppose tile holds up well.
almost looks 3D.
It has stood up well to neglect. The teal color is so beautiful. I like the painting.
wow would love to have seen it back when..
that little boy is missing his face :(
Amazing Motts that you can see these things first handed, but we are blessed to have a friend like you who shares with us who can not be there.
Beautiful.
Yeah that boy is missing his face.....kinda scary. Its a shame all those electrical outlets had to be put over the tiles....what a waste.....it ruins all that beautiful tile work.
you just don't see craftsmanship like this any more. most building nowadays are just thrown up in a hurry to save money on construction. these mosaics are extraordinary.
I wish this place could be preserved, Its a shame to see it fade away
as fascinating as it is -that had to be creepy. and sad.
That green shell in the corner almost looks like a switch cover or something.....
...or maybe just part of the beautiful wrought iron support
To think the effort they went to, to make this out of different sized pieces of tile, nowadays they'd just tile the lot and paint on it.
probably is a switch cover..
wow great find
A similar motif to a certificate of some sort that I've seen from the "Shriners' Hospital for Crippled Children".
It's still way cool! You don't find treasures like this very often.
Whoever did the electrical conduit on the wall sure did a hack job.
