Nice shot. I like the angle you took this at. I've taken similar photos myself; just not in abandoned buildings. I'm a coward like that you see.
This appears to me to be the staircase that connected the Lower Lobby (winter coffee shop/summer gift shop on the right) with the upper South Lobby. Directly behind the lens were pay phone booths.
robrot: you're correct. if you turned to the right there was the lower coffee/sundry shop.
the old elevator of blood must have rolled through here.
As I commented before, this is the site of our Rainbow girl convention ( called Grand Assembly). On the last night there, we had what we called tha "Grand Ball". All the girls dressed in gowns and we all loved coming down the stairs in our long dresses. This stairway was the site of one of the funniest things. One of the girls I was friends with was not very lady-like. After watching us all decend gracefully, she reaches down, grabs the HEM of her dress and pulls it up to about waist height. Then she STOMPS down the stairs. We had good times at the place. Sad....so sad.
Sandy, i would love to make a comment but i promised to behave. Boy this is getting harder for me but i love this site.
You mean you're not going to tell us how many of the Rainbow girls you deflowered in the 80's? ;)
I will be good!!! I will be good!!!! My God this is so hard!!
Awe come on...give me just one baby....1 little story..I wont tell...
Thats why we have the forum, In time. We must respect Motts rules!!!
Second day surfing on this site lol. Love your stair pics . Is this place still standing???
the color of the stairs kind of creeps me out, a blood red, but a beautiful shot none the less.
