Did there used to be some type of frosted glass in the doors or did they just knock out the center wood panel.
Glass Panels in a Sanatorium?
Hey, don't you forget this place was used as a hotel (and a luxurious one, from what I could read) and a sort of "spa/wellness/health" resort. That's why there are decorative balconies (some pictures before) and thin glass doors. ;)
I know a soft teal color is supposed to be calming, soothing to the senses, but this particular shade seems rather garish.
my bad...
Fancy panel design. The door in the foreground appears to still have a sliver of wood in in that center panel. I imagine those big panels were quite decorative and somebody put the grab on them.
if there was "gingerbread" woodwork in all those doors like screen doors on Victorian houses, that would have been spectacular!
hi AD, sanatorium isn't the same as a sanatarium. Two different words, and worlds, if you think about it.
SanaTORiums were used to kind of keep patients away from the public to stop the spread of tuberculosis. (1920's -50's)
SanaTARiums = mental hospital
