Deep

We dove straight down to the lowest point of the old hospital where this morgue awaited, dressed in various stains.

The open door led to the cooler; a large refrigerated room where cadavers were stored on gurneys rather than trays.

Oh yes the morgue, always seems to be something of interest and this picture is no differant. Lots of mystery stains.
What wonderful way to present a new gallery! Wow! Look at those stains! A colorful array of dried fluids! Ooooo!
Oh man that's grim.
I love that great bodily fluid stained floor.
Sweet new pic's!

Chilling pic! Suprised it's still there.
New Pictures Motts!!!!!! Cool Shot.
Oh joy! A new gallery! Thanks so much, Motts.
not very sanitary looking at all. well, not now at least
didnt these places ever get cleaned ?
YEAH! I love it You answered my prayers, Dear Mr. Motts! Hello AD, Hello Debbie & Canada, and to all! :)
You picked the very best place to start! Just surprised the table is still in one piece. Love the rainbow of colors on the floor.
How many gurneys could fit in at one time? The first time as a nurse I ever had to wheel a body to the morgue the freezer was that style. It was an old crappy hospital.
I ask only because the capacity of the freezer in the morgue I was talking about could only really hold about 2 gurneys at once. Seemed sort of asinine..
Have just been reading up on Whittingham Hospital.

My mum was in there in l967, she was very very ill and not expected to live very long, thats why they put her in there.

It has upset me to think that my mum could have been abused at the hands of those so called 'nurses'.

She died in there in the March of l967 just befeore Mothers Day.

It has really worried me , after all these years, she could have gonethru hell while she was so ill.
WOW!!! Great shot Motts I love the old mourges their just so creepy.
Hard to recall the dimensions of the cooler - I would guess it could fit four gurneys comfortably, five or six if really needed.

Interesting; I wonder if the population that the hospital served was so small that it warranted such a small space. I would imagine these rooms would be costly to expand.
Love the shot
Thanks for the new galley. Did you say there were cadavers still in the cooler??
did anyone notice that the stain is in the shape of a body? Head on the upper right, legs lower left.
it is, greenskulker! A very large body it would have been though :)
Pauline, i am so sorry. :(
The hospital I work in has a morgue cooler like that, it can ony fit 2 morgue litters.
I love morgue shots, which is probably a problem, but this is wonderful nonetheless.
Is that a surgical mask on the floor? Why in the morgue?
got mystery stains....then you need OXY CLEAN!
Perfect shot and a perfect set for a horror/thriller movie.
I still have my morgue fetish!
Ooooo, that is so awesome.
That mask on the floor is awesome. I hope the stains are rust...
Some dope shit man...
Pitty there where no trays.
But the table is damn nice man and the way you captured it really rocks!
Thumbs up from holland.
Rule.
Usually these are "holding" points before the body goes to the funeral home or a location which they do autopsies. Most hospitals do not do autopsies, the Medical Examiner does. This is why the cooler only holds three or four bodies at a time.
its funny how the tile on the walls still look new..
