Morgue Alarm

Morgue Alarm

The clearly-labeled morgue alarm sat silent in the hallway. I have never see one before; I assume that an audible alarm sounds if the temperature in the cooler gets too warm...

Good guess Motts, looks like the same kind of battery used in electric fences, don't see them too often anymore.
Zombies did away with the alarm first.
Thats something ive never seen either! Looks like it has a button on it like a doorbell. Wonder what that was for? Maybe for a quick test or push this if someone presumed dead suddenly moves..... Oh My!
Might be in case of body snatchers!
Probably in case someone was trying to escape in the off hours. Another great gallery, thank you!!
A D, I was thinking zombies, too. Morgue alarm = Zombie alert. Heheh... but it makes sense you'd want some sort of mechanism to notify workers if the temperature went to high in the cooler. Last thing you want on a Monday morning in the morgue is to come in and find out someone left the door to the cadaver cooler ajar on Friday afternoon...
I meant to say... "went TOO high in the cooler."
Rekrats, you would be a great writer of the next" Death- in- the- morgue return- to- the- zombie- movie!"
You never fail to find something new and interesting in each place you go Motts! Was so glad to see a new gallery tonight!
never seen that before
You know you got to have your morgue alarmed - in case any deceased patients decide to become zombies and walk out on you!
Morgues are usually attached to the lab. There are many times during the day that the staff is not in the morgue. So if a funeral home comes to pick up a body they have to get the attention of the staff. Thus the morgue alarm. Kind of a crazy name for it since it is just a doorbell..............
we have a cooler high temp alarm for our several cooler areas here at work. similar set-up
It is similar to an alarm system with a battery backup. In case of power failure or high temperature, it would (most likely) page a couple of people about the outage via phone line (Note the bar of screws indicating data lines) so action can be taken. (i.e. Starting a backup generator) If it did not trigger that as well. I don't think it was for warning of Necromancers or rogue morticians. :-D
must be afraid that people might leave
Im pretty sure that it's in case the zombies escape.
Zombies! Yes. I do what I can to alert people to the dangers of zombies in these buildings. It could be said the alarm goes off when zombies invade seeking brains to eat. But that room stores cadavers, so I'll speculate that the alarm warned of new zombies becoming active that are ready for zombie control collars.
LOL autoguy! Those darn zombies....
I wish I had a morgue alarm for myself. Fantastic shot.
why would there be an alarm in a morgue??
Broken refrigerator = not good.
broken refrigerator = rotting corpses
rotting corpses = nastiness D:
