Heh the two blue chairs are talking about the red one.
Haha Toot, that's what it looks like, doesn't it? Nice shot Motts, as usual your gallery of photos are amazing!
Those chairs are in good shape-they should be reused.
atleast its not a lonely chair...lol
The red chair feels left out. :(
Wonder how comfortable they were?
One of these chairs is not like the other....
I like those chairs!
yes, cool chairs
Mom and Dad chair have a "sit down" discussion with their son....
red chair is not amused :)
Those chairs are SOOO uncomfortable if you have to sit in them for an hour-long group session or something. Your skin sticks to the pleather. And the rigid sides are way hard on the arms. Still, these seem to be in remarkably good shape. They probably aren't much used in more updated hospitals, which may be why they're still here.
I want those chairs!
They look like psych furniture. The plastic covered cushions, simple shape, and lack of visible hardware.
LOL Canada. I just had a Sesame Street flashback.
Nice shot. I wouldn't mind having those types of chairs in my apartment livingroom.
Hmm wtf
@Canada You have no idea how hard I laughed at your comment.

...Anyway!

I would totally keep those chairs. They're in great condition!

It's creepy how clean and unmoved it is though.
Toot, your comments are a real hoot! Love them! And this picture is fantastic. You know how Mott's has this love affair with abandoned chairs!
wow those chairs are so meden! Looks like they are from the 70's. Those chairs were also popular on college campuses. You saw them a lot in dorms or student unions.
lol toot! and jackieB i totally agree! this reminds me of my dorm's common room, probably why no one was ever in there
Jessica, my dorm's common room had the samy chairs too, lol! And mine was always empty too. ;)
LOL, those chairs remind me so much of college. I never liked sitting in them for too long though. Its funny to see them in hospitals too. I bet there are still a lot of these chairs on some college common areas
@jackieB-Those chairs were in my college dorm too! They were in the Hall Lounge. I guess those are the "standard" chairs for any institution. They look like they last forever! : )
Lets all get togther here for a weekend stay -----!
would you be brave enough ?
Wow this looks incredibly clean!
I think this was one of the rooms where families would visit with the residents. When you went there, you signed in and a worker would go get the person you were visiting and wheel them out for your visit. Unless the resident had specific restrictions, you could wheel them outside around on the grounds while you visited with them.
These sort of chairs are still used in mental institutes.. they're large and heavy and nearly impossible to pick up and throw
One of these things is not like the other! haha, excellent photo.
Amazing on how pristine these chairs are. The room is very clean too. Interesting. Great shot Motts. You are the master.
There were chairs like this at the last psych hospital I was in! This picture gave me the chills at first, then I read the comments and now I can't stop giggling.

The red chair looks like an outsider, like I was in school...not belonging, but trying hard to belong all the same.

OK I am rambling now...
Might have been a group therapy room.
Boy, alota fans o those chairs... yechh, their awful, lol... great shot though. Another example of a little saying a lot.
LOL... brings Alice In Chains's song "Angry Chair" to a whole new meaning.
