Okay. I stand corrected. There has been some damage done. I wonder what the "RP" stands for?
Someone left their mark as they left..
Rest in Peace ?
Initials maybe?
Looks like it was done with a fork, but I wonder if they where allowed forks?
I think is RIP!!!!!!! Mr. Motts i am right.
Really PISSED
The tines are spaced too far apart to be a fork....
Ferdy- Yep forks were allowed on some wards. but im guessing initials made by a pen or something else.
The marking under the 'P' kinda looks like a lowercase "T."

RPT maybe?
Ouch! looks like it would hurt!!!! :O
the marks are parallel curving at the exact same points, so they seem to be made at the same time with one instrument, but i agree they look too wide to be a fork
I think it could actually have been a fork. There is nothing really to show the scale of the picture so it could be that those lines are at an appropriate fork-width.
Ryan Pace
Regis Philbin???
Judging by the colour of the marks it seems as though they were made a while ago and since varnished over, maybe they weren't made by 'vandals' but by someone who was there while the place was open?
Had to be made by one instrument. Looks like it was done with permanent markers rather than scratched in like with a fork. Like one of those instruments that would hold several pieces of chalk or several markers at one time used to draw lines on a chalkboard/marker board to write musical notes. Notice how the line on the outer curve of the letter "P" is wider than the others, as if the vandal put a little more pressure on that side of the marker instrument as they formed the curve of the letter "P".
Almost sure that this was done by a patient
