Interesting wood detail surrounding the bottom, Dont think ive seen a station like this before!
that kinda looks like a heating radiator by the station.
I thought radiator too when I first looked at it.
Interesting what ever it was meant for.
This picture is a step back into thre 1960's.
That is a row of clubs that the nurses used to discipline the inmates.
lol autoguy
I would imagine it was part of the decor that would be considered "safe" for residents.
My first thought was "bars"
lol Mark ......I thought it was a bar to.. then I thought ti was a hot tub.... Im sure they would of loved that
Great shot agian Motts.its almost like at anytime someone would be walking by the hallway in the back it looks like the light is on back there...the more you think about it though the creepyer it gets.
Motts U never reply to my comments but do you think that there was originally glass windows covering the desk, like at psych wards?
I gotta say, I prefer the turquios tile to the yellow tile.
No I don't think there was any glass at the desk, I can't imagine a good reason for it at this facility.
The hallway does look all dark and creepy.
Nurse Ratchet please come to room 666 STAT!
I thought it was a radiator too. I also prefer the blue tiles ovr the yellow
Great post, Maniac Mike! (I like, I like....)
Like a shot out of one of my horror movies! Great!
ugly yellow glazed brick like in my grade school!!
To reply - there were no glassed in areas. The nursing stations were work places for the nursing staff to organize themselves for their days. Also served as an information sharing place for all.
I think it's knee punisher to get you to stand at front of the station, kind of like a barbed-wire fence, crowd control if you will.
If the counters were a little wider, it would be more like a bar
