New gallery! HAPPINESS!
Morgue! HAPPINESS!!

Love the colours.
Bad vibes, very bad vibes.
Totally awesome. The trays were gone huh? For a place that size...and being a nursing home at one point, four drawers isn't very big. Morgue shots are some of my favorites.
I wonder if the trays are valuable or if they just dispose of them for sanitary reasons?
Gives me the heebie jeebies looking at that.
the floor looks nasty. . fitting for a morgue I suppose
it's not creepy as far as morgues go. I've seen worse by Mr Motts, much worse hihihihi!
at last!
four drawers, no waiting
Ya know...everyone always freaks out when they see a picture of a morgue and thinks it's creepy...but I'm thinking leaving people out and not refrigerating them when they die might be a lot creepier...
Jeez, kids died here?
I completely agree Katy.

And I also wonder if the trays have any value and if they were sold as scraps by former employees when the place shut down. I find it interesting that a lot of these places have so much stuff left over that could be salvaged and sold. I'm glad that they're all still there though, it makes for fantastic photos and evokes emotion.
I've noticed in all or most of all the morgue pictures Mr. Motts has taken the metal trays are missing. I suppose they must be a collectors item.
I watch Ghost Hunters and I can't believe that some of those guys actually climb in those things and shut the door! No way jose, not me!
I wouldnt climb in one of those either!
why is there a mourge in a school? lol
The lot of man-to suffer and die!
WAIT... i thought this was a home for kids that have behavioral issues??? what a morgue doing there?
The detention center was taken over by Western State School and Hospital in 1962, which was a residence for the developmentally disabled. This building, constructed specifically for Western State, was essentially a fully equipped hospital to care for the most infirm residents.
is this place still standing today or has it been demolished?
This medical building is gone; I believe the administration building still remains, not sure if anything else.
Wonder if a light came on when you opened the door
Yes, the administration building and 3 cottages still remain,
they might of took them cause there were blood on them or remins
As of today the administration building still stands. I live about 2 minutes from this site. There has been an ongoing battle between the county who wants to place historical status on the building and Horizon (the developer for Southpointe II) I would LOVE to purchase this building to allow people inside. If anyone has tried to do research on Western Center, it is such a secret!
I was in the admin building this past Saturday while staying at a hotel next door. It's very creepy, much more beaten down and vandalized (after 10-years, it's unfortunately common) but full of amazing opportunities to take pictures. Only visited the first floor. Local police were out front when we walked around the building, but didn't pay any attention to us walking around and taking pictures. FASCINATING visit to say the least.
I seriously doubt those are more than 6' deep which makes me wonder, how does someone my size fit into that. Im 6'4" and around 250. Also makes me wonder how the larger ones fit. With the trays, id say theres only a good foot of space left
They took down the main building. The first day they started , the sky got grey and dark then rained. They stopped working that day.
Now my questiom is... WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CEMETERY THAT IS ON THE GROUNDS? Did they build over it?
