This is amazing.
Oh how I love the floor and the lighting in here, all leading up to the doors (Alice in Wonderland-like)!
Those tiles were probably very nice new..or without water on them. This shot draws your eye right to the back of the room...
Any takers on as to what the higher and lower rectangular holes were for?
Lower one is probably where the Mad Hatter lived.
I was wondering that, too, LucieLou.
And I'll betcha those floor tiles are asbestos! Be careful, Motts!
I believe these are vents used in forced air heating / ventilation. Many rooms have openings near the top and bottom of the wall to facilitate ventilation using air pressure instead of fans and blowers. I've seen these in many old hospital buildings, but not positive that I have the correct explanation...
Great lineup shot.
What a great shot.
great pictures
I like this floor pattern.
We don't see patterned tile like that too often, it's usually just a checkerboard.
This room is right across from the theater and is covered is White Dust (Asbestos) And Security used it as a dumping ground for mattresses lol kinda like how Stedman and Bell is now used for storage of chairs and stuff...Oh yeah they added a rather pathetic looking fence to the property too
@phiftybuick
Floor tiles are made of polyvinyl chloride not asbestos.
I love the pattern on the floor too. Those vents or whatever they are creep me out a bit though.
koonkap, I disagree. These are most certainly asphalt/asbestos floor tiles.
