The only exposed brick was on the outside of the building, so the markings didn't extend past the porches attached to the sides of the building.

Was there anything comparable along the rest of the exterior walls? If the walls outside of the porches lack this, then that would be a pretty good indication that this indeed the work of patients and not vandals post-abandonment.

I think it might be the patients - vandals use spray paint usually. Makes you wonder - was the patient here 14 years or where they 14 years old?

I didn't see anything like this anywhere else in the hospital; the sheer number of drawings and writing were definitely the product of many long, boring days on these porches.
