Front Desk

Front Desk

The big cabinet there held all the room keys, and probably mail.

Hi, I worked (and flirted)here behind the reception desk on the summer of '69..(the Woodstock festival). Part of my job was to hand out keys to the bellhops as the guests checked in. I was fired from the job along with a few other people because I left to work at the festival selling hero sandwiches. It was a summer I'll never forget! I had a close encounter with Janis & Jimmy...Yeah!
Peace & love, Michelle
What memories....and fun, fun, fun.
How sad and eerie to see what it looks like now. Awesome pictures!!
This brings back memories. I was a bell hop there in the summer of 1979. I had a great time although the bell hops received the worst food and had the worst sleeping quarters; plus we had to kick back some of our tips to trhe service manager, Kenny M .
I wasnt born yet..... so i have no memories about this but i agree with Michelle Blum this pictures are sad !!!! =-{
Anyone remember Rock??
Strange to see everything so deserted.
Can't you rip those off the wall and sell them to me? All the lives those cubbyholes came in contact with!
tom tom, i remeber BIG Rock...and his girlfriend too.
Wow i wonder how many rooms there are and thats a huge front desk
Howie,
Anyone that worked there in the 80-82 timeframe has to remember Rock. He was an OK guy - if you were a friend, he was there for you. But most knew not to get on his bad side.........
I remember Rock he was always stoned
I just finished going through all the pictures and these pictures are so sad. to see what the shape of the hotel is in is a disgrace to its former beauty.

Why not start up a website or something dedicated to saving and repairing this building
Its so cool, creepy, wierd and beautiful all wrapped up into that I know id stay here.
all wrapped up into ONE.
I went to the hotel summer of 1979 as a guest. I was 14 and met my first love. Her name was Francine Rugolo. I remember the makeshift disco and there was also a band that played there called beggars banquet. I had such a great summer there.
This Front desk is very creepy. But huge.
to Mike: When did you work at the pines?
What did you do there?
do thy sill have bell hops
