A World of Pink

A World of Pink

Small day rooms were built near the central portion of the building; most of the structure consisted of individual rooms and dormitories.

Pink and Turquoise were a popular combo back in the day. I had a 1961 Chrysler Newport 2 door hardtop that had a black, pink and turquoise interior, with a turquoise outside.
ohhh sweet car eldokid@aol.com.
Nothing beats that classic Pepto Bismol pink! LOL
that would wake up anybody
These old asylums had the most interesting construction designs. Love the angled rooms & hallways. I wish they could begin using the artistry & craftsmanship again in modern buildings, but I guess it would cost a fortune.
EldoKid - I remember the spacepod/bubble dash that the '60-'62 Chryslers had...it was way cool!
Nice! Two lonely chair shots in a row!

Sweet car, eldokid! ;)
Curves and odd shapes add an average of 20% to the cost of a building. A considerable amount, yep.

Yeah Dave, a friend had one of those space-dash Chryslers in the family. One of coolest dashboards ever made! Our neighbor had a matched pair of late 50s Mercuries that were two-tone pink and black from the factory. He kept them both in impeccable condition. He loved those cars. And hated little kids. (Me) :oD
Yeah those are some strange colors there. The light coming through the windows where the pink is really nice. It really lights up that space alot....considering at night with no light (other than the Moon that is) how dark those places would be......great shot as always Motts!! Another sad & lonely chair as well....
the state operated places like this had more money to burn in the unique construction of many of the places seen here.Ihate to see these places in the shape they are in ,now newer construction seems cheap looking compared to older structures of similar design
ahhh a nice Pepto bubble gum room....so soothing
Dave and Autoguy, yeah, they sure don't make dashboards like that anymore. I recall advertisements saying it had an "Electrolumeniscent Glow" to it and it sure did. I have never seen anything like it since. I regret selling that car but I still have about a dozen picture of her.
not only is it more expensive to bulid deviating pages, but i imagine that it would be hard to keep track of renegade patients without a clear view
Color Rich! Love the color combinations. The Photo seems to tell a story... Great.. Thanks!!
Wow, awesome color contrast!
